I am a licensed clinical social worker who focuses on counseling adolescents, adults, and their families. I truly value the experience of making a connection with others and learning their story. It is a privilege to offer support as people learn about themselves, their lives and to witness their growth and change.
I have a specialty in treating anxiety disorders and most often see clients with issues around anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, self-esteem, feelings management, social skills and changing families. I particularly enjoy supporting adolescents in their launch to adulthood. I work closely with parents, collaborating on how to best support their child/teen at home.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from George Mason University and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University.
I have been working with children, youth, and families for almost twenty-five years in a variety of settings. I have had my own independent private practice for over 9 years. I use a combined approach of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) as well as talk and expressive therapies.
Prior to the opening of Trailside Counseling Center in 2014, I worked with a prominent area practice conducting individual therapy as well as leading groups for children and adolescents who are on the autism spectrum, have ADHD or other social challenges. I also worked for Loudoun County Public Schools from 1999-2005 and continue to support the Office of Student Services on a contractual basis.
